How to Clean Your Pleated Filter Cartridges?


The Pleated Filter Cartridges is a type of filter element commonly used in water treatment. In the process of using the pleated filter, we not only need to do a good job in the maintenance of pleated filter, but we also need to understand the cleaning method when the pleated filter is contaminated. If the pleated filter element is seriously polluted and the physical method of cleaning can’t restore its flux, it must be cleaned with a chemical cleaning agent. The purpose of cleaning the filter element is achieved by chemical reaction with impurities on the surface of the filter element

There are also certain principles when choosing chemicals in the chemical cleaning process of the Pleated Filter Element. Firstly, no chemical reaction with other materials of the filter element and components. Secondly, the selected drugs need to avoid secondary contamination. Here are some chemical cleaning methods for your reference:

 

1. Oxidizer cleaning agent: Use 1%~3% H2O2, 500~1000mg/L NaClO and other aqueous solutions to clean the filter element, which can remove dirt, oxidant cleaning and kill bacteria. H2O2 and NaClO are commonly used fungicides.

 

2. Acid solution cleaning: Commonly used solutions are hydrochloric acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, etc. pH of the mixed solution=2~3, use cycle cleaning after soaking for 0.5~1h, the removal effect of inorganic impurities is better.

3. Enzyme-containing detergent: Such as 0.5%~1.5% pepsin, trypsin and so on. It is effective in removing protein, polysaccharide and oil pollutants.

 

4. Alkaline solution cleaning: Commonly used alkalis mainly include sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, etc. The PH value of the prepared alkaline solution is also determined by the type of filter element material, generally around PH=10~12. Use water circulation to clean or soak for 0.5h~1h and then circulation cleaning, which can effectively remove impurities and grease.
